Keep Cool
The most natural air conditioning in the world. Our exterior blinds and awnings block the suns 'heat' rays keeping the the adjoining internal room naturally cooled. The effect is similar to that of a good sunhat, you keep a clear head, even on the hottest summers day.
Glazing is common in all building types, varying in shape, size, grade and even colour (tint). It allows a room to fill with natural daylight and a connection to be kept with the outside world, all important factors for well-being, efficiency and moral. However, glazed areas are the single biggest cause of solar gain. Whilst this is desirable in the winter to help naturally warm a building, in the summer it leads to severe overheating, which in turn affects perceived indoor air quality and of course well-being, efficiency and moral.
Glazing is virtually transparent to the suns energy which enters the earths atmosphere as short wave lengths. When it is absorbed by objects inside a room, including people, it is converted and re-radiated as long wave infra-red (heat) which glazing is opaque to, therefore it cannot escape, causing the heat in a room to build up.
Our external solar shading solutions have a cooling effect as they stop the solar heat from the sun reaching the glass, therefore preventing a room from overheating, all whilst admitting diffused natural daylight and maintaining the view & connection to the outside.
Total solar heat gain can be cut through glazed areas by upto as much as 96% with external blinds, therefore having a positive impact on the energy needs of a building and significantly
reducing the load on any installed air
 conditioning unit.
External blinds are now part and parcel of modern windows, helping to create sustainable buildings that are comfortable and healthy for their users, with lower running and maintenance costs.
