Don’t Let the Frost Bite

Keep your external shading system protected.

Frost, Snow, Weather

Most of us have experienced the harsh frosty weather we have been having over the last few days, the temperature has really plummeted and disrupted the daily routine. We could be close to a white Christmas with only two weeks away. As beautiful as the snow and frost may be we need to take precautions and be safe.

Those of our clients that may be concerned about their external shading systems, please remember that our products have been designed for external purposes, the engineering of our hardware and fabrics make them the strongest on the market. However, frost can cause damage, freezing the aluminium profiles together, so it is strongly advised that you keep your external roller and roof blinds along with awnings retracted away safely inside their cassette casings whilst temperatures are sub-zero. Furthermore, if using your blind or awning to protect from bright sunlight, a particular problem reflecting off snow and beaming into our homes, make sure you are in a place where you can keep an eye on your blind or awning so if it starts snowing again you can retract it immediately. Snow gathers quickly and allowing snow to build up on an awning fabric can cause significant damage to the mechanism and material

Outdoor Living Pod, Louvered Roof, Pergola, Snow, Frost

With our Outdoor Living Pods™ however, snow does not pose an issue, well not the light dusting we have had of late, with a roof load capability of 75kg per square meter meaning you can still enjoy your outdoor living space under complete shelter. Furthermore if you have our optional infrared heaters mounted to your structure then you can stay toasty outside too.

If you have any questions about you external shading system then please contact one of our advisors at our Suffolk Head Quarters who will be happy to assist - 0344 800 1947
