External Roller Blinds Block the Heat, Not the View

“The installation looks great, we are very pleased with the finished product.”

After completing the renovation of their property in Loughton, Essex, which included a 6m span of sliding doors to the open plan kitchen/dining/living area that would allow the area to fill with natural light and provide maximum view across the 100ft+ rear garden, it soon became apparent to the client that light wasn’t the only thing the area was flooding with, so was unwanted solar heat gain filling the area, resulting in an uncomfortably hot indoor space.

Wanting to find a neat solution that would block the heat without spoiling the view the client headed along to the Grand Designs Live exhibition in May where our Antiguan model external roller blind stood out from the crowd. Not only would the streamline clean design of the system compliment that of the clients slim framed sliding doors, coupled with the ability to colour co-ordinate the hardware so it appeared a part of the glazing frame but thanks to the unique cb_600 solar control mesh fabric featured on our external roller blinds, the view out across their garden would be maintained and diffused natural daylight still admitted but with the heat blocked.

The result: the whole family can enjoy the use of their newly transformed space irrespective of how hot it is outside, kept cool at the touch of a button thanks to their new external roller blinds that runs directly in front of their glazing stopping the suns solar heat rays from getting through the glazing.
