Our Outdoor living Pods™ have been designed to combat the elements so that you can enjoy outdoor living for longer. Every feature has a purpose, whether it is to protect or enhance the space. It has screens for wind, sun and rain protection, it has integrated guttering to keep the space dry and electronically operated louvers to adapt to the weather conditions and your needs. The Outdoor Living Pod™ has been recognised for its efforts, it has won awards for its accomplishments due to the detail and quality of its structure.
One of those details is the frost setting that has been implemented into the louvered roof design. When the temperature reaches frosty conditions then the louvers will automatically open to protect the seals. If the frost setting is not activated then opening the louvers when they are frosted could potentially damage them which would make the roof susceptible to leaks during wet conditions. The frost setting is a great design to keep your louvers protected during harsh frost conditions.
However, some clients store their furniture underneath the louvered pergolas during the colder seasons where they are protected from the rain and snow. We are often asked if we can turn the frost setting off to protect the objects underneath, we can do this so that the louvers stay closed at all times but we do advise the clients to make sure that they do not attempt to open the louvers when there is frost as this could cause permanent damage to the seals that help to keep it watertight.
Remember to always take care when you are operating your louvered canopies and make sure you keep them maintained throughout the seasons. Here is a quick maintenance guide to keep your Pod pampered.
