DOMINICA EXTERNAL BLIND
The Dominica blind offers the highest level of solar heat and light control to windows and doors along with weather protection to the exposed openings on verandas and pergolas. Designed to be built within the façade, the streamline side guides contain ziplock technology which locks the fabric in place at every position, rendering the blind windproof and preventing any light shining between. The weighted leadrail guarantees the fabric remains taut and closes completely into the full cassette headbox which neatly conceals the blind when not in use.

Full Cassette Headbox
A slim, fully enclosed cassette casing provides a neat hideaway for the blind, protecting the fabric and operating mechanism from inclement weather when closed away.
Ziplock Technology
A zip locking mechanism concealed within the side guides, locks the fabric in place at every position rendering the blind wind resistant upto 31mph and preventing any light leakage.
Durable Construction
The hardware (metalwork) is constructed from corrosion-resistant, extruded aluminium for durability and longevity, finished in a choice of over 200 RAL colours.
Concealed Fixings
A clever, two-part side guide which supports the headbox, conceals all fixings, ensuring a flawless finish and seamless attachment to the façade.
Waterproof fabrics
Extensive selection of exclusive water and fade resistant fabrics, constructed from hi-tensile fibres that do not stretch, warp or tear, treated with TEXgard self clean effect coating.
Easy Functioning
Operation is via a built-in, powerful and reliable Somfy tubular motor with the latest bi-directional (io) and obstacle detection technology operated from a remote control or app.
Weather Sensors
Optional sun & wind sensors for automatic functioning of the blind, extending the blind when a set lux level is reached and retracting the blind during low light levels and high winds.
Bespoke
Available upto 6m wide x 3m high, with the ability to face or side fix and integration of the headbox within the façade.

How much does the Dominica Blind cost?
All our external blinds are bespoke, made to measure to your exact requirements and therefore the cost varies significantly depending on the specification (size, hardware colour, operation type…) and mounting detail.
Our Dominica Blind starts at £2,590 inc vat, installation & 5 year guarantee upto £4,500+. Can the Dominica Blind be used on the side of verandas/pergolas for wind & rain protection?
Yes. Our Dominica Blind features the same ziplock technology used on the side screens to our louvered roofs which locks the fabric in the side guides, rendering the blind windproof upto 31pmh, rated as a strong breeze, where large branches are in motion, umbrellas are difficult to use and whistling can be heard in telegraph wires, along with rubbish bins blowing over.
Additionally, all our fabrics are treated with an exclusive TEXgard coating that repels both dirt and water. As the Antiguan Blind is a vertical screen, water cannot pool on the material and will simply run off the surface, with the added advantage thanks to the TEXgard coating that it will clean surface dirt from the material ensuring the material keeps a clean visual appearance.

Can you see through the fabric on the Antiguan Blind?
If you select our most popular and exclusive Twilight Pearl ‘dimout’ fabric, which is a micro-perforated fabric, during the day the view from inside to out will be maintained but passers by / onlookers cannot see in. At night, whilst the view is not reversed, if the light level is significantly greater inside than out and someone is within close proximity of the blind outside, there may be a blurred view from outside to in.
The perforations in our materials are uniformed over the surface area and do not allow water through from rain showers, due to their microscopic size and will if using the blind as a windbreak prevent gusts of wind as the perforations will diffuse wind along with light.
If no view through the material is required, for example on bedrooms, then opt for our blockout fabric, which is a tightly woven fabric, without perforations.
