SKYLIGHT & ROOF WINDOW BLINDS
Flat fixed and opening skylights and roof lights are a common feature of many single storey home extensions, creating an open and airy space beneath, with a feeling of increased height and of course flooding the space with lots of natural light. However, these popular home features emit too much heat and light, making often the open plan cooking, dining and living space beneath both thermally and visually uncomfortable.
Mounted outside the glass, to the glazing framework so they are unseen when not in use, external roof blinds prevent excessive solar heat gain and glare, by stopping the suns solar radiation even reaching the glazing and diffusing incoming light to eliminate glare, subsequently creating a cool and comfortable indoor space.
Depending on whether the property is overlooked, a blockout fabric can be selected that offers the best heat control whilst also providing privacy from overlooking buildings or alternatively a dimout material will allow a view through from inside to out when the blind is extended keeping that open, airy feeling roof glazing brings. And with a minimum 95% UV block, fixtures and furnishings are prevented from bleaching by the sun.
A concealed tensioning system contained in the side guides keeps the fabric under optimum tension at every position so the blinds can be adjusted to any desired position and also offers the flexibility to have either the blind mounted at the top or bottom of the skylight, opening up or down the glass depending on each sites specific needs
It is highly recommended to automate roof blinds, linking them in with sun sensors so they automatically position themselves to ensure even when you are not home, they are preventing excessive solar heat gain, so when you return home, your property is at the perfect temperature.

Initial reaction is that the process and product have both been excellent. The fitters were very good, as were you… so far very impressive, and I would be happy to recommend you.

The blind is incredible
I thought I would wait a little while to see how the blind was functioning before I contacted you again but I would just like to say the external roof blind has transformed the way we use our room. The space would have been virtually unusable over this summer but the heat reduction on using the blind is incredible. I am now thinking of other areas in the house that would benefit from external shading.

The two fitters were fantastic
We are extremely pleased with both the blinds and the service. The two fitters were fantastic and we cannot wait for our awning now!

Rayner - St. Neots
The team were very professional, did a great job and the product is lovely, really good quality. The best thing is that it looks like it has always been there, which helps fussy self-builders like us!
Fantastic job, thank you.

How pleased we are
Just to say how pleased we are with the blinds, although we have not had a chance to use them properly yet (and I suspect it will too cold for the next few days!).
