Cooling Down in Outdoor Alfresco Dining Areas

With long-awaited blue skies and temperatures expected to be higher than LA this weekend, it’s only natural many of us will be looking to wine and dine alfresco style to make the most of the glorious Spring weather.

In fact, with studies revealing customers tend to eat slower and drink more when the weather is warm, alfresco dining presents a highly lucrative proposition for these types of businesses, with some increasing their volume of staff by as much as a third to meet demand. Plus, with passers-by likely to be drawn into your establishment by the sight of happy, relaxed customers, it’s a win-win situation for all concerned!

It is therefore no surprise that the number of companies requesting applications for sidewalk seating has jumped by as much as 70% since 2011, with many believing a sizeable outside space is a ‘necessity’ when considering restaurant sites. And, given that an attractive patio/terrace area could increase a company’s yearly income by as much as 30%, it’s easy to see why restauranteurs are keen to enhance their business with a stylish alfresco environment.

As the Spring weather continues to go from strength to strength, for many establishments there will currently be a flurry of activity behind the scenes in order to prepare for this weekend, with new employees hired and schedules adjusted to ensure everything runs like clockwork.

And for the majority of eateries, shading is an essential element for any successful alfresco area. Our sleek patio awnings and louvered roofs enable diners to safely enjoy the sun’s rays as they relax and socialise with friends and family, whilst keeping them fully protected from any unwelcome showers. Once the sun sets, subtle lighting can be introduced to enhance the atmosphere whilst creating an inviting display that’s sure to attract onlookers.

There is no doubt that a carefully-considered dining area will enhance your customer’s experience this Summer along with providing a high return on your investment- and a stylish shading solution is an excellent place to start. Alternatively, if you’re looking to prepare your home and garden ready for the Summer months, our patio awnings are an excellent way to transform a previously-unused space into one of the most popular areas of the home!

This recently completed Patio Awning installation in Waltham Abbey, Essex creates a stunning splash of colour.
