Family Business of the Year

We are pleased to announce that we have been shortlisted as a finalist in the Suffolk Business Awards for Family Business of the Year. The prestigious business awards, recognise innovative, imaginative and inspiring firms in the region. There are multiple categories within the awards including best employer, community involvement, customer care and family business to name just a few.

Caribbean Blinds has been based in Sudbury, Suffolk for 19 years now, however, over the past two and a half years, since Stuart and Brad Dantzic (sons of Ray & Angie who founded the company in 1987) took the reins, the company has enjoyed extraordinary growth, with sales more than doubling. Given the successful growth of the company which was a response to change and strategic leadership, Caribbean Blinds were nominated as a contender in the ‘family business’ category and after a meeting with the judging panel for the category have made it through to the final.

Caribbean Blinds started life as a trade supplier and the only company in the UK dedicated purely to external shading. 32 years on and Caribbean Blinds remains dedicated to external shading and now works across trade, contract, residential and commercial sectors and is recognised as the leading manufacturer of external shading in the UK. The companies foundations, which it still adheres to today, have been built on providing innovative external shading systems that deliver genuine lifestyle enhancing benefits, coupled with premium quality, stylish design, exacting service and value for money.

The finals take place on Thursday 4th July and of course all the team at CB are keeping their fingers crossed the company gets crowned winner of the category, however, to have made it to the final, is an accolade in itself. The entire team from production to installation, admin to sales, each play a pivotal role in the success of the company, so the award would be a recognition of their hard work, dedication and commitment to carrying out their role to exacting standards.

Additionally, to being a finalist in the Family Business category, our Managing Director, Stuart Dantzic, is also a finalist in the ‘Young Business Person’ of the year category, recognised for his fresh, dynamic, forward thinking approach that has seen the business thrive over the past 30 months along with unique strategy to business development that has seen the company secure and win many prestigious and large scale projects.
