Frost/Snow Protection

Snow, Weather

Snow decided to make an appearance over the weekend but it did not cause as much disruption as the ‘Beast from the East’ did the other week. As beautiful as the snow may look it can cause some minor issues which we just don’t want to deal with, such as clearing the driveway and gritting, along with washing the car to keep it free from damage causing minerals from the roads but these jobs have to be done.

For those clients that are concerned about their external shading systems during cold periods please note that our products have been specifically engineered and designed with the finest hardware and fabric solutions making them the strongest and most reliable on the market. Even though this is the case we still advise that our clients take precautions when there are chilling temperatures to ensure the longevity of the shading solution. It is for this reason we recommend keeping patio awnings, external roller blinds and external roof blinds retracted within their protective aluminium cassette casings.

Those clients that own awnings please be extra careful when you are using your patio awning during temperatures like this, we understand that light can be a nuisance when it is reflecting off of the snow but if you need to deter the sun using the garden awning then please ensure that you are in a safe place to keep an eye on it as snow can fall and build up very quickly, pooling on the material and the last thing you want is your awning taking pressure from a load of snow as this could cause damage to the fabric and mechanisms.

If you would like more reassurance or advice about maintenance of your external blinds then feel free to call one of our experts who will be happy to help you – 0344 800 1947
