Celebrating National Family Business Day

Manufacturing Excellence Award

Our business has been in family hands for more than three decades and so we’re proud to be celebrating National Family Business Day today, alongside the other circa 5.3 million family firms in the UK.

At Caribbean Blinds, we manufacture luxury external shading solutions including awnings, pergolas and blinds, and are pleased to be part of this nationwide event – which celebrates the significant contribution made by family firms across the UK in terms of jobs provided, income created, wealth generated and all the charitable initiatives supported by firms large and small.

Based in Sudbury, our company was founded in 1987 by Ray and Angie Dantzic and began as a small shop front supplying trade dealers. Our founders recognised the growing demand for stylish and functional outdoor living spaces and set out to meet this need with innovative products.

In 2017, the couple’s sons, Stuart and Bradley Dantzic, took over the reins of Caribbean Blinds, marking a new era for the company and blending the founders’ original vision with fresh perspectives and innovative ideas.

Now working across residential, commercial, contract and trade, our products can be seen adorning the facades and gardens of discerning homeowners and businesses across the UK, with notable celebrities and prestigious commercial establishments among our ever-expanding portfolio of clients.

As we have continued to grow, we have maintained a close-knit, family-like atmosphere. This approach has fostered loyalty among our employees and has also contributed to our reputation for excellent customer service.

Stuart Dantzic commented: “Family businesses are the lifeblood of commerce in the UK, and we’re delighted to be part of this important celebration. Growing and developing the family business is something my brother Brad and I are proud of and of course my parents Ray and Angie, now watching from the side-lines, are enjoying the continued success of the business they founded back in 1987. Myself, Brad and the entire team feel like we’re doing them proud!”

What do our employees say about working for us?

“I have been part of the CB family for nearly 7 years; it is said that an ideal family fosters a positive environment for growth, learning, and emotional well-being; which as a family business Caribbean Blinds instil the same values; just don’t call me “Grandma/Nanny.”

“It’s a generational family run company that supports the local area where I’ve grown up….the staff are also an asset to the company & great to work with”

“Working within a supportive team that is focused on product & service quality”
