We were recently informed Ofcom, the communications regulator, are making changes to the way consumers are charged for calling service numbers. Following research that suggested these service numbers often ’caused confusion amongst consumers,’ Ofcom have introduced a series of changes which strive to make costs more transparent and easier to understand.
With the news that 0844 numbers will no longer be charged at just a local/national rate but also include a service charge fee of up to 7p per minute, we have changed to an 03 number.
This 03 number will cost no more than a local/national rate call to an 01 or 02 number, and this rate includes calls made by all mobiles, BT, other fixed lines or payphones. Essentially, these new numbers will allow organisations like ourselves to have a single national point of contact without consumers having to pay extra to make the call.
Therefore, from today onwards, we’re pleased to announce our new phone number will be 0344 800 1947 with the office opening hours Monday to Thursday 9am – 5pm and Friday 9am – 4pm.
This website, our literature, correspondance paperwork etc. will all be updated accordingly with our new phone number, however, if you dial the previous 0844 number (for the next 12 months), you will receive a pre-recorded message asking you to redial, replacing the 08 with 03 – you won’t be charged for this message.
