‘Very Happy’

Like a growing number of people, the Reeves opted for an all glass lean to pitch roof on the extension to their family home in Guildford, Surrey, complemented with bi-fold doors that opened up onto the terrace. The extension, which housed in an open plan arrangement, the kitchen, dining and day lounge was meant to be the heart of the home, where the family could enjoy quality time together, however, even though the glazing was impregnated with a solar control coating designed to prevent overheating, the Reeves soon found out their new extension was a sun trap, heating up to uncomfortable temperatures, making the space unusable.

After researching online and contacting several companies, the Reeves following a detailed survey and on site discussion with one of our specialists, contracted us to install our Cayman tensioned blinds to their roof glazing. Due to the width of the roof glazing a coupled roof blind was installed, with them sized so one blind covered the lounge area beneath and the other the dining area, so providing complete flexibility. The blinds, to ensure maximum effectiveness, were equipped with an intelligent sensor to automatically deploy them when light levels exceeded a set threshold, therefore preventing the indoor space overheating, meaning the Reeves would always come home to a cool indoor space, no matter how hot the ambient temperature.

The Reeves also took advantage of our special offer Anthracite Grey hardware colour option for the metalwork of the blinds which saved them almost £1,000 for both, plus gave them an installation in less than 4 weeks, meaning they didn’t have to suffer with the unbearable temperatures in their glass extension for much longer.

Following our post-installation email, the client sent us the below comments outlining their experience with us:

“Many thanks for your email. We are very happy with our new blinds and managed to enjoy them in the sunshine yesterday!

We have been very happy with the service we have received from you (from the initial quote), your visit and then the installation team. They were very polite, friendly guys and got on with the job quickly and efficiently. We were very impressed with them. If you could pass on our feedback that would be great. “

If like the Reeves, you’re suffering from soaring indoor temperatures caused by excessive solar heat gain through your roof glazing / skylight, our experts are only a phone call away on 0344 800 1947. Alternatively if you have a photo and some approximate dimensions of your glazing, email them to info@cbsolarshading.co.uk and one of our specialists will review and come back to you with a shading system recommendation and outline guide price.
