If you tried to access our websites www.cbsolarshading.co.uk or www.shadingspecifier.co.uk over the weekend, you will no doubt have been confronted with a blank black page with no images and just the category tabs, and if you clicked on any of the tabs the above error message would have been displayed. This was due to some unplanned maintenance on the servers to which are websites are hosted that we were completely unaware of, so please accept our apologies if you tried to access our website at the weekend with no luck.
Our website is today back up and running exactly as it should be with all functionality and information restored. We are speaking to our server providers to ensure that they notify us in advance of any future planned or unplanned maintenance so we can make provisions to ensure our website is never offline, especially given that it is the no.1 source of information on exterior blinds, awnings and outdoor shading solutions in the UK and constantly accessed at all hours of the day.
This extended period of downtime was to our knowledge the first time it has ever occurred with our current server hosts, who are acknowledged as being one of the best, however, we will now be closely monitoring and reviewing the situation and should it be necessary (which we hope it wont) we will switch to a new server host to ensure there is no unnecessary downtime / loss of use of our website again.
