Caribbean Blinds Takes On Contract to Refurbish the Solihull MBC Civic Suite

Located within the town centre and where the full council meetings take place, plus cabinet, planning, licensing and various other council meetings and home to the Mayor’s office, the MBC Civic Suite is the political hub of Solihull.

As part of the window package refurbishment, external roller blinds have been specified to prevent excessive heat build up and glare, with Phase 1 (West elevation windows) due for completion in just over 4 weeks.

Caribbean as one of only two nominated suppliers were approached by facilities management company Grahams to discuss the shading requirements and how installation of phase 1 blinds could be achieved in the timescale given, especially as the blinds can not be surveyed until the new windows are in situ but need to be fitted immediately following the window installation to meet the project deadline and to allow for the removal of the scaffolding.

To enable this to be achieved, we put forward a proposal where we will prepare the blinds for production (ie spray the hardware the desired colour, pre-cut to the approximate size the selected material, allocate the motors & controls, etc) over the coming weeks, with survey taking place the day of the window installation completion, production of the blinds the following day and installation the day after, ensuring the project is completed on time.

As the UK’s only dedicated exterior blind specialist, manufacturing our products in our production facilities located in Suffolk and with our own, fully employed technicians, we are able to meet even the tightest of time constraints and in this instance by pre-preparing the blinds, we can achieve a survey-manufacture-installation time of just 3 days. You just wont get this speed and co-ordination elsewhere and this is one of the main reasons Caribbean were selected to undertake this project.
