With many special occasions coming up like Halloween, fireworks night and the BIG C….Christmas, it is time to start taking care of the Pod. Our louvered roofs are all manufactured with the finest material and treated with the latest self-cleaning coatings but like all things you need to maintain it in order for it to look its best at all times and functioning correctly. We have brought together some quick tips to keep your patio pergola looking gleaming all year round.

Deluxe Pod

The roof is the main section that will receive the most impact from the outside elements making it prone to getting dirty especially if it is shadowed by trees and plants. Over time the roof will collect loose dirt, it will not cause any damage because of its aluminium material but it is advisable to keep it clean and free from any obstructions. The best way to do this is to rotate your louvers fully to see the top of the roof, clear any twigs and leaves that may obstruct the seal of the louvers. Using a sponge mop, warm water with a mild soapy solution (circa 2%) clean the louvers, if there is any acidic substances like birds mess and tree sap then clean this immediately to avoid any damaging to the coating of the hardware.

If you have side screens on your Outdoor Living Pod™ then the same cleaning method will apply. Using a damp cloth with warm soapy water, gently wipe away any dirt covering the material. As the fabric is coated in an advanced self-cleaning coating you will find that you will not have to maintain this as much.

Give the gutters a thorough clean out from any dirt or leaves that have settled in the inner perimeter of the Pod roof. Once this is cleared out you should run a hose on the roof to clear any remaining debris and flush out anything that is lodge in the down pipes. If your Pod is surrounded by trees then keep an eye on it every now and then seen as autumn is upon us.

Now dress your Outdoor Living Pod™ for the new seasons ahead and enjoy outdoor living all year round.
