Installation Of The Month – June

June has been an incredibly busy month for us at Caribbean Blinds, as the temperature increased so did the workload, but that did not deter our team from their dedicated efforts. As we transitioned into the summer season we had been endlessly working around the clock to complete our large-scale projects and prepare our new Showsite & Shading Experience Centre for the official launch to our trade dealer network – the pressure was certainly on for all of us.

When it came to selecting June’s installation of the month we took into consideration the complex challenges and time scale in which it took our specialists to complete, which brought us to the decision to select our Enfield Pod project. We were faced with an intricate task of erecting a triple roof module of our Outdoor Living Pod with additional bespoke fittings that would test and stretch our skilled technicians. This was an exciting and stimulating project to witness over the course of the month.

Our aluminium constructed pod is designed to create a complete waterproof alfresco area stretching across the full width of the client’s raised patio to extend the internal environment to the external. Constructing a typical sized Pod measuring typically 5m x 3.5m can be a strenuous task for a two-man team so you can imagine the energy that went into this extraordinary development which totalled more than 600 square feet.

Not all of the elements could be manufactured in our factory – bespoke infills in this scenario around the BBQ flue and to create a covered walkway down the alley way for storage of fuel etc for the BBQ have to be accurately measured, shaped and cut on site, after the main Pod structure has been installed and squared up. This is why our technicians are trained to the highest standards so they can effortlessly carry out these bespoke elements which provide the finishing touches and really sets us apart.

Within this Deluxe Outdoor Living Pod an outdoor BBQ area with coal and wood fired ovens is situated at one end under one of the three louvered roofs, the central louvered roof area contains the dining area with rattan furniture and then the final roof section houses the chillout zone, which includes an integrated fireplace that was built into the structure. Our designers allowed for additional uprights within the structure to allow this unique feature to be built in, which has really enhanced the client’s outdoor living experience as they have created themselves a warm social area to reside in.
