At Caribbean Blinds, continuous learning is more than a box-ticking exercise — it’s a mindset. That’s why the entire team has recently completed training to become accredited Smart Solar Shading Advisors.
Every member of customer facing staff took part in a one-day course developed by the European Solar Shading Organisation and delivered in the UK by the British Blind and Shutter Association. The training gave them a solid grounding in the science behind solar shading, as well as its practical benefits for both buildings and the people inside them.
This latest accreditation reinforces Caribbean Blinds’ status as the go-to experts in external shading. From reducing energy use to improving comfort and wellbeing, the team now has the specialist knowledge to offer truly tailored advice for both homes and commercial spaces.
“It’s essential that our whole team shares the same in-depth understanding of solar shading,” said our Managing Director, Stuart Dantzic. “By completing the training together, our whole team are able to speak with confidence, in one voice and recommend the most effective solutions for any project.”
“This accreditation helps us apply real-world insight to our work, showing exactly how external shading can enhance comfort and support the sustainability of a building.”
The course covered key topics including solar radiation, how shading influences a building’s energy performance, and the wider environmental and economic benefits of dynamic systems. It also helped the team sharpen their ability to interpret performance data — a vital skill when offering guidance on products such as awnings, pergolas, louvered roofs and external blinds.
As an added bonus, Caribbean Blinds can now display the official Smart Solar Shading Advisor logo, reflecting the team’s expertise and commitment to raising standards across the industry.
