To get things started for our SS21 feature projects from around the nation, we teamed up with GB Masters competitors, Virginia & Tony Mitchell, to provide them with our Award-Winning Outdoor Living Pod™ to shelter their newly installed, state-of-the-art luxury swim spa.
Like many homeowners around the country the on-going lockdowns have pushed us to adapt our homes to cater to our new lifestyles, and outdoor spaces in particular have become a valuable asset. Virginia Mitchell (World and European Champion W55 at 400m) and partner Tony (British Champion at 300m hurdles) ceased the opportunity to invest further in their home gym & fitness studio facilities, a space that is consistently used by the athletic couple of two teenagers, who are also actively involved in the training sessions.
The GB Athletes invested in an innovative swim spa to advance their training methods, which offers invaluable health benefits, helping to improve both performance and recovery. Situated just outside the front of the home gym & fitness studio, the swim spa was exposed to the elements, which, when you take into account our unpredictable British weather, resulted in restrictions in use and that’s where Caribbean Blinds came into play. We designed, manufactured and installed an all-weather louvered roof structure, which thanks to its clever design features and ability to adapt to the changing climatic conditions, provides the perfect flexible shelter to the swim spa, whilst also creating a seamless transition from the dedicated indoor fitness space to the outdoors.
The unique design of the automated louvered roof system of the Outdoor Living Pod™ allows users to take full control of the weather; the louvers rotate and stop at any precise position to let in light or create shade beneath the structure creating the perfect desired setting to enjoy the open-air outdoor living lifestyle. When closed the roof is completely watertight, with water drainage into a concealed guttering system around the perimeter of the cross beams and evacuating discreetly out the base of the post uprights.
