During the colder seasons weather conditions change and become more unpredictable, so it is important to be ready, which is why we are writing this article to give you some crucial tips to keep your Blinds, Awnings and Outdoor Living Pods™ out of harm’s way.

Our products have been designed and engineered to combat harsh weather conditions but when there is a storm brewing we advise all our clients to take extra precautions. Storm winds can reach staggering speeds which can cause damage to the longest standing trees, which is why it is vital that blinds, awnings and Outdoor Living Pods™ are kept safe during a storm period.

Blinds and Awnings

All of our external blinds and patio awnings have been designed with a robust aluminium cassette to protect the fabric and mechanisms against storm conditions. Please ensure that your blinds and awnings are retracted back into their protective casings until the storm has passed. If you have a wind or vibration sensor added to your external blind or patio awning then this will automatically retract when the winds pick up, however, during the process of retracting your blind or awning it can get damaged by the weather, so if you know there is a storm coming then do not wait for the sensors to initiate, retract your outdoor blind or electric awning ahead of the storm.

Outdoor Living Pods™

To keep your louvered pergola safe during a storm please ensure that you rotate the louvers to 90 degrees to let the strong winds pass through and prevent any uplift on the roof. If you have integrated side screens then make sure these have been retracted back into their cassette casings.

If you are planning on being away from your home for a long period of time then we would advise that you follow these steps before leaving to avoid any sudden storms. If you would like extra security for your electric blinds or patio awnings then we would suggest purchasing a Tahoma SMART Home Hub. This innovative piece of technology links your blinds and awnings to a mobile app which gives you control from anywhere in the world so you will never have to worry again.

Follow these simple tips and you will be able to continue to enjoy your Caribbean Blinds solution for many years to come. We hope this information has been beneficial to you, if you would like more advice then contact our team on 0344 800 1947 or alternatively you can email us on info@cbsolarshading.co.uk
