Pantone Colour of the Year 2017

Pantone, Greenery, Colour, Swatch, Green

Since the year 2000, “The Global Authority of Colour” have always carefully selected a unique colour that reflects the Global culture. The selection process takes into account a wide variety of factors that include fashion, food, interior design, politics, travel, and this is just a few of many that have an influence on the new shade of the year. We connect colour with emotion which is why it is an integral element to how we can communicate.

2016 was a year in which many wished away quite willingly due to unexpected and miserable events that occurred around the world. From Brexit to Bowie, the year was an unpredictable disaster. We live in a world where we are over run by technology and we are starting to lose sight of what it means to be free. We are trapped in our devices, eyes burning from the white artificial light and we feed on the vast amounts of information being uploaded every second.  All we need to do is look up, get up and go out.

Pantone 2017 Colour of the Year, Greenery has given us faith and a sense of freedom. It expresses everything that we desire for a hopeful year. To us the colour is a symbol of reconnecting with nature. Take a step out to the open and release yourself from the shackles of the rat race and start savoring the fresh air and let the "zesty-yellow green" stimulate your mind.
